Hornady Custom pistol ammunition is designed and loaded by people who are hunters and shooters themselves, and know what it takes to make a great cartridge. In other words, these are cartridges they're proud to use themselves. Hornady carefully chooses all the components, matching brass, powder, primer and Hornady XTP and fully encapsulated FMJ bullets to achieve top accuracy and performance for each specific cartridge. All Hornady Custom pistol ammo is loaded with either the famous Hornady XTP (Extreme Terminal Performance) bullet or the new fully encapsulated FMJ. Both are supremely accurate, and both deliver whopping knockdown power. Hornady produces much of the brass for Hornady Custom pistol ammo. All other brass is chosen to ensure it meets unusually high standards for reliable feeding, corrosion resistance, proper hardness and the ability to withstand maximum chamber pressures. The powder is matched with each load to ensure optimal pressure, velocity, volume, and consistency from lot to lot, and accuracy. Only the highest quality powder is used, and each new lot is double-checked for consistency. Primers, like the powder, are carefully matched to its load. All are chosen for their ability to quickly and completely ignite the powder charge.
