Marlin
Firearms' new Model 444P Outfitter lever-action rifle is
chambered for the burly .444 Marlin. Similar to the
popular Model 1895G Guide Gun, the Outfitter has an 18
1/2-inch ported barrel with Ballard-type cut rifling.
The ported barrel reduces muzzle jump and recoil,
allowing the shooter to get back on target quickly for a
second shot.
The rifle has a hammer block safety, five-shot tubular
magazine, adjustable folding semi-buckhorn rear sight
and ramp front sight with brass bead. All metal surfaces
are deeply blued. The receiver is tapped for a scope
mount or receiver sight and is sandblasted to prevent
glare. The offset hammer spur on the Model 444P is
designed to be mounted on either side of the hammer for
use with a scope.
The American black walnut straight-grip stock with cut
checkering has a tough Mar-Shield¨ finish,
ventilated recoil pad and swivel studs. The overall
length of the Outfitter is 37 inches and the weight is 6
3/4 pounds. All Marlin firearms are shipped with a
safety lock for added protection during storage and
transit.
