Winchester
Revolutionizes Steel
Shotshells
A new steel shotshell line from Winchester Ammunition will forever change the way
hunters look at the nontoxic line of shotshell ammunition. The new loads manufactured by
Winchester are called Xpert Steel. The shotshells feature steel shot that is made by an
exclusive patent-pending process. The result is a more economically priced shotshell for
both hunters and target shooters.
Xpert Steel is available in 12- and 20-gauge loads for upland game, target shooting and
waterfowl hunting. The light 12-gauge round is a one-ounce load in either No. 6 or No. 7
shot with a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps. The 20-gauge round uses 3/4 ounce of No. 7 shot
and also has a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps.
For more demanding upland and waterfowl hunting, the heavier Xpert Steel shotshells
come in 12-gauge, 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch loads. The 12-gauge, 2 3/4-inch load uses 1 1/8
ounces of Nos. 2, 4 or 6 shot. The 3-inch load uses 1 1/4 ounces of either No. 2 or No. 4
shot. Both loads have a muzzle velocity of 1,300 fps.
The new Xpert Steel shotshell loads combine the steel pellets with efficient
clean-burning Winchester propellant that delivers consistent performance with less barrel
residue. Specially designed shotcups deliver optimum pattern performance.
Winchesters reliable primers round out the load. The Xpert Steel shotshell loads
will be economically priced and a great choice for upland bird and small game hunters who
must use nontoxic shot on waterfowl management areas or state areas that require nontoxic
ammunition.
Hunters and shooters will be able to find Xpert Steel shotshells at any store that
sells Winchester ammunition. For more information visit its web site: www.winchester.com.
