Gary Storm has introduced a line of
inletted walnut riflestock blanks for Remingtons, Ruger No. 1s, Mauser 98s and Winchester
Model 70s. The inletted riflestock blanks are American walnut, straight grain and
laminated. Quality Bastogne, English and maple inletted stock blanks are available from
grade A through Exhibition.
Stock patterns available for
Remington include standard BDL, Classic, general purpose, benchrest and varmint or
thumbhole. The Ruger No. 1 stock pattern is available in monte carlo rollover cheekpiece
style. Mauser 98 patterns include monte carlo cheekpiece or varmint styles. Winchester
Model 70 patterns available are Classic with cheekpiece, match and varmint or thumbhole
stock.
Custom patterns can be duplicated
for most modern rifle actions. A custom riflestock includes an oil finish, 18- to
20-lines-per-inch checkering, studs and recoil pad installed.
Glass bedding is recommended to ensure a
minimum of movement in the point of impact in wood stocks. A unique bedding technique
assures a virtual warp-free wood stock. Glass bedding is done in two stages with materials
that assure the forearm will remain stable and will not move due to weather changes
(temperature or moisture). During the process, weight can be added to forearm or
midsection of the stock without any effect on stability of the glass bedding. Accuracy is
