Historically, precision shooting was the exclusive domain of specialized military and law enforcement units, where every fractional adjustment could be the difference between mission success and failure. Over the decades, however, advancements in optics, rifles, chassis, ballistics and accessibility to these products have opened the floodgates for the everyday person to be able to enjoy the art of long-range shooting, transforming it into a competitive sport and a field of continuous innovation.

In this dynamic shooting discipline, shooters demand equipment that offers precision, adaptability, durability and comfort over extended range sessions. The Cadex Defence Strike Nuke Evo addresses these demands by fusing the benefits of a micro-chassis system with the familiar ergonomics of a traditional rifle stock. This hybrid design harnesses the inherent stability of a purpose-built chassis while providing the adaptability and tactile control that precision shooters require.

    Materials and Manufacturing Processes

At the heart of the Strike Nuke Evo’s performance lies a meticulous selection of materials and manufacturing methods that push the boundaries of conventional rifle stock design. The chassis is engineered from a blend of carbon fiber composites and aerospace-grade aluminum, each chosen for its unique properties and contributions to the system’s overall performance.

Carbon fiber is renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, making it a natural choice for modern precision equipment. In the Strike Nuke Evo, carbon fiber is used strategically to reduce the chassis’ overall mass without compromising durability or rigidity.  This results in a consistent and repeatable shooting platform where minute deviations, often leading to accuracy degradation, are substantially minimized.

Complementing the carbon fiber is high-grade aluminum, which provides the rigidity and structural integrity required for precision shooting applications. Aluminum’s excellent machinability enables intricate design features that enhance the chassis’ modularity and adjustability. With the help of cutting-edge computer numerical control (CNC) machines, the aluminum components achieve incredibly tight tolerances, an essential factor in achieving consistent and repeatable results down range. Moreover, aluminum’s thermal properties ensure that the micro-chassis at the heart of the Strike Nuke Evo remains dimensionally stable across various environmental conditions.

    Ergonomics

Precision shooting is as much an art as a science, and the interface between the shooter and their equipment can significantly influence performance. Recognizing this, the team at Cadex Defence has engineered the Strike Nuke Evo with a deep understanding of ergonomic principles. This ensures that every interaction between the shooter and the rifle is optimized for comfort, control and consistency.

    Adjustable Cheek Rest

One of the standout features of the Strike Nuke Evo is its fully adjustable, spring-loaded cheek rest. This component delivers a consistent and comfortable cheek weld, critical to maintaining shot-to-shot consistency. The cheek rests adjustability, including side-to-side adjustment, allows each shooter to dial in the exact position required for their unique anatomy. These precise adjustments minimize alignment adjustments when reengaging with the rifle, providing a comfortable and positive home position to return to. This allows the shooters focus and accuracy to remain uncompromised even under rapid follow-up shots or movement while engaging a different target.

Customizable Length of Pull and Recoil Pad

The Strike Nuke Evo works flawlessly with Remington 700 footprint 22 LR rifles, as seen here mated to a Zermatt RimX.

Beyond the cheek rest, the chassis incorporates a spacer system that allows for fine-tuning of the length of pull. This adjustability caters to a broad spectrum of body sizes and shooting preferences, ensuring that each shooter can achieve a homogeneous relationship with the rifle that minimizes fatigue and maximizes stability.

The grip Cadex Defence designed for the Strike Nuke Evo is a top contender for my favorite grip on the market. The texture is superb, and the geometry is just right. The fact that it is ambidextrous is a massive plus if you are a left-handed shooter or are shooting a stage where the non-dominant hand must be used.

The fact that it is ambidextrous is a massive plus if you are a left-handed shooter or are shooting a stage where the non-dominant hand must be used.
The adjustable recoil pad is also designed to absorb and effectively dissipate the felt recoil, something that many rifle and stock manufacturers often overlook these days as a cost-saving measure in the manufacturing process.

    Ambidextrous Palm Swell Grip

The ergonomic design extends to the ambidextrous palm swell grip, a feature that sets the Strike Nuke Evo apart from many competitors. This grip is engineered to be equally comfortable for right and left-handed shooting, all while incorporating a subtly integrated thumb rest that enhances control without intruding on the natural hand position or looking like a shelf on which you can place your magazine collection. This dual-hand compatibility ensures that shooters of the southpaw variety can maintain a consistent grip, reducing the likelihood of inconsistent trigger pulls.

    Customization Inlets

From rimfires to long-action cartridges, Cadex Defence had the foresight to not limit the Strike Nuke Evo to just short-action Remington 700 rifles. Whatever cartridge and common rifle action you fancy to build with, you will find an inlet to fit your needs.

    AICS Magazines

Another plus for the Strike Nuke Evo is the seamless integration of the widely adopted Accuracy International Chassis System (AICS) magazine platform, featuring an AICS-compatible magazine well that accepts standard five and ten-round AICS magazines, ensuring rock-solid lock-up and flawless feeding across multiple brands of magazines I have tested.

    M-LOK Integration

In today’s dynamic shooting environments, modularity is not a luxury – it’s a necessity. Recognizing the diverse needs of modern shooters and folks carrying firearms to protect the public, Cadex Defence has integrated modular accessory mounting systems into the Strike Nuke Evo, enabling users to adapt the chassis to various scenarios and shooting styles.

The Strike Nuke Evo features integrated M-LOK sections, the gold standard for accessory mounting in today’s rifle builds. M-LOK technology allows for the effortless attachment of various add-ons, including ARCA rails, sling mounts, and bipods. The low-profile nature of M-LOK ensures that accessory integration does not compromise the streamlined design or add unnecessary weight while maintaining the chassis’ structural integrity.

At the heart of this excellent hybrid chassis is a micro-chassis that requires zero bedding to shoot lights out. I have successfully changed barreled actions in and out of this chassis while at the range with no notable impact shifts.

    CERAKOTE Finishes

What is the best part of a rifle build? When you can make it your own and add a “look cool factor” to make it stand out. Cadex Defence offers eleven standard color options and additional alternate options such as Battle Worn and Hybrid color schemes. This isn’t just some backyard rattle-can paint job; they use CERAKOTE coatings, the leading name in rifle coatings, to finish all their chassis, offering a dual-purpose finish that both protects the chassis and looks great doing so.

    The Micro-Chassis Advantage

In precision shooting, sub-minute of angle (MOA) accuracy is considered the gold standard, but realistically, today it’s a bare minimum. Achieving such pinpoint precision requires an integrated system where every component, from the action to the chassis, is optimized for stability and consistency. Thankfully, the Strike Nuke Evo’s micro-chassis design is central to reaching this level of performance and does so flawlessly.

Traditional, mass-produced rifle setups often suffer from issues related to bedding and alignment inconsistencies between the stock and the action. The micro-chassis design of the Strike Nuke Evo overcomes these challenges by providing a rigid, unified platform that integrates the rifle’s action with the chassis. This integration eliminates the potential for micro-movements in conventional setups, ensuring that energy transfer from the action to the barrel remains consistent shot after shot. Maintaining a fixed geometric relationship between critical components helps preserve the rifle’s inherent accuracy and contributes significantly to sub-MOA performance.

Another benefit to the micro-chassis design is if you are like me and have multiple barreled actions of the same footprint, you can swap barreled actions in and out of the Strike Nuke Evo to whatever you would like to shoot that day, seamlessly. If you choose, you can swap them out at the range in the middle of your shoot – it’s that easy. This makes a micro-chassis a no-brainer in today’s precision shooting world.
